Does The Home Based Business Industry Have A Bad Name?
Does The Home Based Business Industry Have A Bad Name?
From the desk of: Michael Clouser
The answer to that is Yes and No. Let’s start with yes. There are several yes answers and they stem from a couple of different factors, you will get a yes answer from those that have failed in the industry and could not find success. You will also get a yes answer from those outside of the industry that have had run-ins with inexperienced people in home based businesses that were unprofessional, pushy and misrepresented their products and company.
Finally, you will get a yes answer from the media, who thrive on breaking a big story. Now the media is not altogether wrong. They base their opinions on polls and write -ins from disgruntled people, largely due to the tactics that were used 20-30 years ago. The commercial product industry does not like these businesses, but are usually not very vocal because of their advertising budgets that can squash the average network marketer.
Now, onto the No’s. Obviously, the home based business name isn’t that tarnished because it is the number one sought after business opportunity in the world. Another reason is that the home based business industry has tightened up the reigns on what distributors can say, do, and claim. That is a good thing. It keeps everyone honest.
Another reason it does not have a bad name is because of how diversified it is. You can find any product that you like now, even commercial products. With the introduction of affiliate programs, everybody is happy. Health and Wellness and online virtual shopping malls have come to the forefront.
There are more opportunities available to generate significant income than any other time in history thanks to home based businesses. The only problem is that due to the overwhelming increase in home based business enrollment, the lack of business experience and training is still very prevalent and there continues to be a huge number of dropouts and failures. While the opportunity to strike your fortune is offered, having home based business success can still be a challenge.
Home based businesses are a terrific opportunity, but one must educate themselves about the company, products and services and understand the company compensation plan. Plan on these two things if you are already involved or are planning to get involved, you will have to invest in your business in the form of proper training and start up capitol. If these two things are left out, your business and dreams will fail.
Home based businesses are not ‘Get rich quick schemes’ and never were, However they are a lot of fun and offer anyone an opportunity in whatever niche they choose, so finding a business for you depends on your interest and time. Not everyone is cut out for network marketing, but even the novice can do it and succeed. Expect slow growth in the beginning but big dividends in the end. And invest in success training.

Is this Home Based Business kit a scam? What do you have to do?
http://la-sentinel.com/money_online.html?t202id=5674&t202kw=rnt%2026&ref=DC761372%2DDE04%2D4557%2D8047%2D2E48E11DFE79
Is this a scam? Have any of you done this? What kind of work is it? What do you have to do?
I’m a young mom and i need a way to make money from home, is this a good idea for me?
Mike: Can you tell me what kind of work you do for you’re company? I generally don’t trust these online business things unless they openly say what you’re doing for the money
If a work from home job sounds too good o r has the promise of huge earnings, then its probably not for real, so I’d just recommend avoiding it.

Are Passion, Desire and Commitment Enough to Succeed in a Home Based Business?
You just signed up with your new home based business and you are ready to light the world on fire. You got your welcoming kit, threw in the DVD and watched the extravagant portrayal of success stories, one after the other. Now you are really pumped up.
The lavish lifestyle filled with expensive sports cars, vacations and million dollar homes has you in a feverish frenzy. It won’t be long until you’re making $25,000 a month.
So, you set out to tell everyone about your great products and business opportunity. Your passion and emotions are at an all time high, your mother, brother and a few friends sign up, and things could not be better. Your up line is keeping you pumped up and telling you that you are doing great and to keep up the good work.
Everything is going great and you have maybe two dozen people signed up, then it’s just as if someone flipped a switch and it all comes to a screeching halt. You say to yourself, well I just have to work harder that’s all. Then reality sets in and growing your business seems a little tougher than you thought. Worst of all, team members are losing patience and are starting to drop out. They tell you they can’t afford your products and they aren’t making any money. This is commonly know as the “warm market effect”.
The hard cold truth of the matter is, that you personally new these people and were trying to sell them a dream and products that they didn’t necessarily believe in. Most of them were only doing it out of courtesy and curiosity. You see 95% of them were never qualified to be in your business. A few of them were hoping it was a get rich quick opportunity.
Like most aspiring home business people, you asked yourself, why? You were probably thinking it must be me. The next thing you started doing was buying motivational CD’s and books, started attending all of the up line hotel meetings and corporate pep rallies. Still you are struggling to sign anyone up.
You know what usually follows; you go looking for a way to build your business. You buy the company-replicated website, pay for their “No Success” training package and start paying money hungry companies for leads and website exposure. Guess what, still little or no results, and now you’re starting to lose money, while you fatten up everyone else’s pockets. “Wow! This is not what I expected this to be” you utter in disbelief, now what?
Okay, let’s analyze what went wrong. Was it your passion, commitment or desire? No! Those are all critical elements of operating a business. What went wrong is what happens to most network marketers. The excitement, dreams and goals, clouded your vision and kept you from realizing that a home based business is a real legitimate business, and needs to be operated as such.
Most people that join home based businesses are ordinary people with little or no network marketing training or experience, and unfortunately, that usually leads to disappointment and failure.
Does that mean that you can’t turn your business around and start making profits? No, if you are thinking of starting a home based business or are currently involved in one, you can turn that business around in a heart beat and still achieve your goals and dreams. For newcomers or mlm veterans, clear your mind and start with a plan for success. Learn marketing, get the training. It is a small price to pay for the success you will achieve for years to come and is a necessity. Anyone operating a home based business must invest in his or her success. You have a true opportunity to achieve independent wealth if your are serious and committed.
In Closing Home Based Businesses are the number one sought after independent business opportunities in the world and provide a solid platform for you, without you having to do all of the establishing legwork. They are for real and are here to stay. It is perfectly acceptable to seek marketing training outside of the company, by doing so the success can be staggering. So go out and get the training, and make your dreams a reality don’t settle for mediocrity.

Home Based Business – Electrify Sales Using Your Head…And Feet – 8 Methods That Work!
Online business is superbly hot and is getting hotter by the day! People are learning fantastic strategies all the time for attaining the most amount of business online and profiting handsomely because of it. Unfortunately, there is one single problem with this scenario, the massive amount of internet competition the entrepreneuer has to contend with.
There is one constant to this idea. Most online businesspeople are content to limit their online marketing to the online community. While there are so many lucrative opportunities using this approach, there are other fantastic and electrifying ways to generate traffic to your website or affiliate link!
First of all, these methods will certainly put you ahead of the pack in terms of sales. Consider these methods greener pastures. They represent an underutilized resource that too many internet businesspeople don’t take advantage of. Therefore, you can take advantage of an area that, frankly, most are too lazy to commit to. But you’re better, right? I should hope so. One guy I know generates fully 40% of his business through these methods, and I hope you can attain a similar level of success as well.
1. Go purchase some business cards or flyers. Put a jazzy call to action and include your URL on these, go to your local mall or hotspot, and begin placing these on car windows and under windshield wipers. The results are staggering!
1.5. By the way, don’t stop at shopping malls. Grocery stores, strip malls, local events, and colleges make excellent places to market you product. Use your imagination! Go where the people are.
2. With these same flyers or business cards, pass them out face to face in an area of great traffic. Place them conspicuously in bathrooms and food courts. This is not as sexy an idea as most, but it works. It works!
3. Get a lawn sign with a good call to action and URL on it. You can place these on the lawn or in public places where a lot of traffic is known to be (a busy intersection for instance.). The more eyes, the more online traffic you can expect.
4. Pick up a rubber stamp with your information and URL on it and go crazy stamping everything in sight. Not everything, but you get the idea. You can stamp other peoples flyers, stamp your business cards, or any other correspondence where it’s feasable. Again, use your imagination!
5. Magnets for your vehicle. Available now are large flexible magnets that you can place on the side or back of your automobile without damaging the finish. Excellent idea considering how many eyes you are in front of on any given day in your vehicle! Do an online search for the best ones.
6. Window decals and bumper stickers. Similar idea. I probably don’t have to tell you how to use them, but I will mention again how useful these tools are.
7. Pens, hats, t-shirts, post-it sticky pads, they even have small mp3 players that could have your logo on them at a surprisingly low cost. Pass them out at your disposal, people love free stuff!
8. Some small business owners will allow you to put your business cards or post cards in a small stand at their check-out counter. Don’t be afraid to go door to door to find out who will allow it.
These methods will take a little more ambition on your part, but rest assured that so few people are doing it that it makes pure business sense to do them. It’s something I like to call ’stomping the concrete’. You may have to sweat a little, but who ever said this was a bad thing? It gets you outside in the fresh air and away from the computer as well. Whatever you do, don’t underestimate the effectiveness of these methods. These also enable you to stretch out and hit all angles of your potential market.
Being an internet entrepreneuer is more than just typing in some letters and watching the money roll in. The most successful among us aren’t afraid, or too lazy to get our hands dirty, and we profit monstrously because of it. These methods will soon represent a strong percentage of your online income when you use them. Try them and you’ll see for yourself!

Directbuy Wins Consumer’s Choice for Kitchen and Bath Design for Second Year in a Row
VANCOUVER, BC…
For the second year in a row, DirectBuy of Vancouver and DirectBuy of Greater Vancouver (located in Coquitlam) have won the Consumer’s Choice award for best kitchen design and best bathroom design.
As the leading member’s only-showroom and home design center, DirectBuy offers consumers an entirely new way to shop by buying directly from the manufacturer at wholesale prices. Yet that’s just part of what DirectBuy offers members. Both locations have highly skilled designers on staff to help members make improvements to their kitchen and bath or start from scratch.
“There’s no question members want to save money on their home improvement projects, especially the higher end ones like kitchen and bath remodels. Part of that is offering savings on materials but just as big a part of that is making it easy to find someone to design the project without spending hours online or making phone calls. Being able to take care of those things in one place gives a DirectBuy membership even more value. The Consumer’s Choice confirms that people do appreciate that added service,” said Jade Allen, co-owner of DirectBuy of Vancouver.
Since 1987, the Consumers’ Choice Award for Business Excellence has been honoring companies who excel in their respective categories. These annual awards are based on a comprehensive and objective survey conducted by Leger Marketing, a member of Gallup International Association, one of the largest market research firms in the world.
“I saw all the companies saying ‘we’re the best’ but I thought the consumers should really decide who’s their choice,” says Ami Peleg, Founder and President of the Consumers’ Choice Awards, which are awarded in Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Vancouver, as well as a number of U.S. cities. Adds Peleg “Whenever the public sees this logo, they’ll know that these are the public’s choice. We encourage people to patronize them.”
Since 1971, DirectBuy franchises have offered members the opportunity to enjoy enormous savings on home furnishings, home improvement items, entertainment and outdoor products and accessories by buying wholesale, directly from the manufacturer. In addition, DirectBuy of Vancouver and DirectBuy of Greater Vancouver also offer members a rolodex of installers, many of whom are DirectBuy members, who can help members create their dream kitchen, bathroom or any other room in the house.
With four convenient locations in the greater Vancouver area (Victoria, Vancouver, Coquitlam, and Kelowna), consumers can enjoy a comfortable, country-club setting, where they finally have the financial control of buying direct.
For more information on a DirectBuy membership, visit www.DirectBuyBC.ca.
