How much will it cost to establish a website that takes orders online?

March 31st, 2009 by admin

It does not need to be a large website, but I would like to have the option to expand if the opportunity arises. Also I will need to acquire a web address. I want to participate in affiliate programs as well.

I recommend one of these: http://www.hosttell.com/

Powweb is on a 50% sale two more days, and you get a free domain from them.

Godaddy doesn’t offer a free domain, but you can get one for $2.19 if you’re buying hosting from them, plus they also have a 20% sale at the moment.

Experience with affiliate programs?

March 30th, 2009 by admin

I started a website about 3 weeks ago and joined the CJ affiliate program. My site is basicly a huge online shopping mall and blog. What I don't understand is I'm getting hits but no sales. Can anyone help me out and tell me what I'm doing wrong. Or do I need to just be patient? Will everyone take a look at my site and tell me what you think or maybe some suggestions.

Thank you!

Hi - The main problem is focus.

What are you trying to do? Yes I know you want to sell, but there is no focus on your site. It appears to be a load of banner ads, which will not make you money.

When someone lands on your site where do you want them to go? The blog or to buy?

Separate the Blog and concentrate on your site.

Pick a couple of products and add some CONTENT. By this I mean information that the visitor wants. If you're looking at beauty products, tell them why they should buy from you - review products and add this to the site (articles etc). Think about what you do when you go to a website and what makes you like a particular site.

Check on similar sites to yours (search Google and learn from what you see). A big clue is most people either like to search a site to find a product or go to a site because they know that product will be there.

People that use the Internet what it simple. They want information in front of them. Basic, clear and simple. If you can get your site focused with relevant content you should move forward.

Hope this helps

What URL i need to fill in the application form of any affiliate program?

March 29th, 2009 by admin

i hv no my own website and decide place their promote link to many ads website.so which URL i need to fill?all URL that promote website i need to fill?

If you are talking of applications to affiliate programs, the website URL that you need to put in is your website, if you have any. Places like Commission Junction and Linkshare evaluate first the website - how it fits with their policies, potential marketability of the topic, etc. — before accepting the website into their affiliate program.

If you do not have a website, you cannot apply to these programs. Get a website first, before you apply.

how can I promote my affiliate programs w/out my own web-site?

March 29th, 2009 by admin

I have signed up to promote several affiliate programs. I have a domain name. but I haven’t built my own website yet. Is there any way I start promoting without my own site ?

Yes, I have the similar experience with you. Then I know how to promote the affiliate program without own website. Generally speaking, there are 2 ways available for you if you can choose the correct program to affiliate.

1. Blog promote: you just need to register a free blog, then you can promote your affiliate program via your blog post. Your blog post only need to attach the link like http://www.regnow.com/softsell/visitor.cgi?affiliate=82376&action=site&vendor=17200. Please replace 82376 with your own Regnow affiliate ID. Then it will link to the vendor homepage http://www.moyeasoft.com.

2. ads: Similarly, you can promote your affiliate program by advertise it in some place like google, myspace, and some large affiliate site, the ad just need to attach the link above.

The above 2 ways allow you get your commission. But please note that you should choose the program from vendors who has full Regnow purchase certified site and can help you market software. There is an example http://www.moyeasoft.com. It’s a perfect site for affiliate to promote program.

Hope my suggestion can help you a lot!

I saw many affiliate programs on web, are they fraud?

March 28th, 2009 by admin

for ex: www.sfimg.com
www.thesurveypro.com
they also ask for credit cards information. if i have a credit card, should i give it to them? Can i make a living on it? are there any job working on internet to earn money?

They are not a fraud but they do not tell the whole truth. The people who get paid the most for their opinions are people who buy things for their companies. For instance, Boeing would like to know what United Air Lines, Swiss Air, Delta Air Lines, Lufthansa . . . want in an airliner for the 2020's. Proctor and Gamble isn't going to pay a housewife $10 for her opinion on soap. Taking surveys for money is a lot more work and pays a lot less than they make it seem.

There are jobs working on the Internet, but they are rare and highly sought after. If you have a proven track record in commercial web design you can work from home as a free-lance web designer, for instance.

I have a website I need to get more traffic. What can I do?

March 27th, 2009 by admin

I am in an affiliate program. Is a shopping website.

You will probably get better answers than mine, but here goes;

Change the home page title (very top of screen on your site), it should say something like "site rocks" or something better

You need to promote, but you must avoid spamming. That means no signing up to forums simply to post a link to yours.

Submit your website to the big search engines like google and msn, it is free and only takes a minute. (you only need to do this once). Do not pay anything to anybody who says that the can give you a high search engine ranking

Avoid submitting to link farms (sites that are nothing but pages of links)

Optimize your keywords and meta tags (do a google search for meta tag creator)

Submit to directories such as Dmoz or yahoo only when you have more substantial content (I know the problem you face, you need the users to build content, but you need content to attract users)

Search for related (products) directories and apply to be listed in them, make sure they have a reasonable alexa or google rating and that they are not just link farms.

Download the alexa and google toolbars and try to get sympathetic members to do the same. The alexa toolbar will give you more information about how your site is doing for free. (though it is not totally accurate)

Think about using a homepage to front the site that tells people what it is all about, keep it simple but informative or even better make it bright and memorable, but avoid clashing colours or hard to read text.

Maybe you could try a traffic exchange? I have used both ts25.com and trafficpods.com to get more visitors to my site. 99% percent of traffic from them will probably never come back but if just one takes an interest and becomes a regular poster it could be worthwhile. If you try any of the big traffic exchanges you will see that most sites shown are pyramid and get rich quick schemes, a site with interesting content should stand out.

always quote sources if you copy an article.

There are no doubt a million things that I have missed but I hope at least one idea helps.

This is the very last thing I promise, tell all your friends and force them to post on your site.

Good luck.
