Experience with affiliate programs?
March 30th, 2009 by adminI started a website about 3 weeks ago and joined the CJ affiliate program. My site is basicly a huge online shopping mall and blog. What I don't understand is I'm getting hits but no sales. Can anyone help me out and tell me what I'm doing wrong. Or do I need to just be patient? Will everyone take a look at my site and tell me what you think or maybe some suggestions.

Thank you!
Hi - The main problem is focus.
What are you trying to do? Yes I know you want to sell, but there is no focus on your site. It appears to be a load of banner ads, which will not make you money.
When someone lands on your site where do you want them to go? The blog or to buy?
Separate the Blog and concentrate on your site.
Pick a couple of products and add some CONTENT. By this I mean information that the visitor wants. If you're looking at beauty products, tell them why they should buy from you - review products and add this to the site (articles etc). Think about what you do when you go to a website and what makes you like a particular site.
Check on similar sites to yours (search Google and learn from what you see). A big clue is most people either like to search a site to find a product or go to a site because they know that product will be there.
People that use the Internet what it simple. They want information in front of them. Basic, clear and simple. If you can get your site focused with relevant content you should move forward.
Hope this helps
