Is there such thing as legitimate work at-home careers?

I’m a stay at home mom. I don’t want to put my daughter in daycare whatsoever. Its not a cost thing it a mom thing. My husband is a Meteorologist and since “the weather never stops” his schedule is not consistent. I’ve tried to get part-time jobs in my area and no one wants to work with schedule around my husbands schedule. I’m finishing up a Bachelor’s in Psychology–so I’m an educated person. I want to make a little money on the side and still enjoy my duties as a mother and wife. Are there any true options out there? I’m not interested in Avon or anything or the Pyramid “businesses” like QuikStarr. Im looking for a real work-at home job. I have excellent clerical and interpersonal skills. Do you have any ideas?

Mature and serious responses only please.

How about tutoring? Writing for blogs? There are some freelance jobs like that. Do you know some programming? Wriring for blogs is quite fun. You can also try wedding planning, or birthday planning.

I’ve looked and looked for stuff like this also. I’m in a similar situation, I don’t want to leave my baby with someone else, I want to be home with him. The only thing I’ve found is accounting, and that’s not one of the things you said but I know you can be a CPA from home. It’s hard to find anything that’s legit and doesn’t take forever to get going. But I hope you find something and it works out for you, sorry I didn’t help out much! Good luck!

Hi, I am a stay at home also and it’s been 8 years. The Company I work for is listed with the Better Business Bureau. If you like candles and products of scent, you may want to consider this business. The Company provides exclusive online training, products and a flash hosted website which they are constantly updating and adding more technology to. I will personally train you for your success. I am currently training 7 people and they are on their way to success. These products sell very well online. No pyramid here. Just and honest and legit business from home. If you think you would be interested, please view my source below and get in contact with me. I will be happy to email you or call you. Thanks.

I totally understand where your coming from. I got married 10 months ago plus I’m going to college for early childhood education so working from home for me was the best choice and to answer your question there are legit companies out there where you can work from home. I am an associate for Procard International and what I do is refer people to Procard either for the health discount program or for working from home. They are a really great company and they are BBB approved and there are no fees (which is why I joined) If you would like more info regarding the company you can email me I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Also if you would like you can check out Procard website. Hope this helps.

Feel free to contact me for information about the company I found to work with. They have a solid reputation, and a solid track record for growth. This is not an MLM. You do not have to sell, stock or deliver anything.

I can relate to your situation 100%. I worked in corporate America for 11 years before we decided to start a family. Both my husband and myself wanted me to be home with the kids and our income was good for the first 3 years, but then my husband’s company folded and he lost his job. It was a very good job with excellent pay and benefits so, it was next to impossible to replace at the same pay level.

We needed more income, but I was not interested in putting my kids in daycare so I knew that I needed to work from home. For several months I waded through the scams, get rich quick schemes, pyramids, etc. and then finally found a REAL business that I could work from home around my family’s schedule. It has now been 3 1/2 years and I really enjoy what I do.

Feel free to check out my profile and visit my website. You can also request more information from the site, which is of course free.

There absolutely are legitimate home based businesses out there. I, like yourself, love being a mom and want to be there for my children and my husband so I have been waiting tables part time and looking around for something that I could do to earn money from home. I have looked into a lot of things and everyone wants you to sign away your life and money to start up with them. To me it isn’t risk free if I have to start off by paying a lot of money with nothing to show for it. I just recently found a great opportunity with mom-execs and Melaleuca, it may seem like a pyramid scheme but it is a legitimate referral business and the best part is that you don’t start off by paying a boat load of money. If you are serious about this and want more information from me on what is involved and making an educated(I bear all info)decision on this matter you can contact me at dafoley5@yahoo.com or dafoley5@cox.net. I look forward to sharing this opportunity with you as well as others.

Thank you~ Danielle

Because you will have your Bachelors in Psychology soon, what about becoming a therapist? I don’t know too much about how to begin, but I know that they make good money, and you can pretty much set your own hours. I would maybe guess that you couldn’t do that right out of your home, but if you went to an office, maybe you could just hire a babysitter to watch the baby in another office while you saw clients.???
